I have donated one of my paintings to Art for Life. As it states on the website, the "Columbus AIDS Task Force invites you to attend Art for Life 2008 the premier art event in Ohio. Join in the charity auction of artwork from some of the most talented artists. Through their generous donations, Columbus AIDS Task Force is able to continue its efforts in the areas of prevention, outreach and education." I thought this was a worthy cause. Check out the website at www.afl2008.org or come to the reception on May 10th at the Columbus City Center.
I have donated my original watercolor painting, "Peonies" to this wonderful cause.
A site to find out what's going on in my art business and to talk about my art.
About Me
- Mary-Anna Welch
- Beavercreek, Ohio, United States
- Mary-Anna Welch is an artist from Beavercreek, Ohio. Upon receiving her BFA and MA from the University of Illinois in Art Education, she shared her love of art in the private and public school systems for over 10 years. After experimenting with several different mediums, she has rediscovered her passion for painting and has settled on watercolor as her main focus. Her work in watercolors has evolved from the very abstract to a more graphic, non-traditional interpretation of her subject. She has incorporated her painting techniques that she used in oil to blend color on the canvas and translated these in her watercolor painting. This results in a blend of traditional colors and images with contemporary styles and forms. When asked about her subject matter, Mary-Anna responds, “I have a black thumb and can not grow anything but weeds. By painting my garden I will always have a rainbow of colors to enjoy no matter what season it is.” Mary-Anna continues to share her love of art by teaching art classes in her studio and at the local art center. You can find her busy painting in her studio or out at gathering ideas in a nearby garden.
